Introduction

Our culture of giving sustains our community and values

We treasure Sherith Israel as the place where we transmit our values and wisdom to future generations, celebrate our sacred holidays and festivals, commemorate the important occasions in our lives and rededicate ourselves to a vision of social justice.

We understand that maintaining a vibrant, relevant synagogue requires a deep commitment from us all. Our culture of giving recognizes that our synagogue prospers when each of us chooses to make it a priority. We find so many ways – beyond our annual membership commitment – to provide the financial support that meets our community’s needs and obligations:
  • Our Annual Fund provides additional support for programs and activities.
  • Mitzvah gifts in memory of loved ones or to commemorate special occasions help support operations or clergy-directed and restricted funds.
  • Special funds provide ongoing support for specific donor-selected programs or activities.
  • Our Capital Campaign honors our commitment to our pioneer forebears and our future generations.
