Sherith Israel's Early Childhood Education program creates a stimulating, engaging and meaningful Jewish environment in which children and their families participate together. We offer enriching, creative and quality programs. Families from all religious backgrounds are invited and welcome to participate in this innovative educational experience.

Our preschool program is designed to empower you and your child to explore the values and practices of Judaism today. Jewish holidays, traditions and celebrations are taught through music, art dance, drama and storytelling.

Our award-winning programs are facilitated by a professional Early Childhood Educator, who is also the Judaic Specialist for the Marin Day School-Sherith Israel Preschool

The Sherith Israel preschool program offers parent-toddler programs, CPR training, a family retreat, Tot Shabbat and Havdallah Pajama parties, enrichment classes for older toddlers, a religious school program, concerts and special events throughout the year including the summer months.

Our unique preschool program offers your child a unique experience of Jewish values, traditions and celebrations which are integrated with an outstanding and varied early childhood curriculum and extended day program. As a member of Sherith Israel, you child will be listed on a priority waiting list for this campus program.

Marin Day Schools/Bright Horizons is a highly successful preschool program with 18 campuses throughout the Bay Area. It is well known for it's safe, caring and innovative approach developmental learning. The Sherith Israel campus has both Jewish themed and secular classes and is NAECY accredited. ONGOING PARENT TODDLER PROGRAMS

Sherith Israel's preschool program helps parents to grow with their toddlers by offering a wide variety of activities in a wonderful setting with age-appropriate toys and discussions, music, movement, singing, guitar, puppets, parachute, bubbles, and friendship with other parents. During the week, specialists in art and parenting as well as pediatricians join our group to answer your questions. Parents with children birth to two years can drop in on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for these wonderful gatherings in a Jewish environment. You need not be a member to attend. Jewish Mama's Group

Moms are invited to build relationships and knowledge in this wonderful and intimate group led by RAbbi Julie Saxe-Taller. Daddy Breakfast Club

A once a month amazing opportunity for daddies and their children to share a great breakfast, to sing songs and to play together. There is also an opportunity for dads to share their knowledge and questions about fatherhood and to meet other dads.  For questions and dates 346-1720 Ext 27
 

GOLDEN GATE MUSIC TOGETHER

Now at Sherith Israel, Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for young chidlren and the adults who love them and are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat  and participate with confidence in the music of our culture. By emphasizing music experiences rather than concepts about music Music Together introduces children to the pleaseures of making music rather than passively receiving it from CDs or TV.

Tot Shabbat

Join other families with infants and toddlers each month at 10:30 am to share an exciting Saturday morning Shabbat experience. Songs, childrens' activities, and a special service by our Assistant Rabbi, Julie Saxe-Taller allow parents to share the joys and traditions of Shabbat with their little ones. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends are also invited. Call for dates 346-1720 Ext 27.

Havdallah Pajama Parties

Once a month Saturdays, 4 PM you are invited to bring the little ones in their "pjs" and celebrate the warmth and spirit of Havdallah together. Call for dates 346-1720  Ext 27

Early Childhood Shabbaton (Family Retreat)

Our next retreat will be held  April 21, 22 and 23, 2007 .
 
Pack up everyone for a wonderful, reasonably priced, fun-filled Shabbaton weekend at Camp Newman. Breath in the woods and sky, enjoy Shabbat and Havdallah with the Rabbi and Cantor, sing, eat, laugh, meet other parents, enjoy art projects with your kids and some time without them! The Prenatal Experience with Birth University

This exceptional series of classes for expectant parents is offered in conjunction with Birth University. This comprehensive course, taught exclusively by Sarah McMoyler, RN, FACCE, CLE combines her 18 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse with her extensive training in childbirth education to create a reality-based, interactive learning environment for parents-to-be.
