Adult B. Mitzvah Training

Thursdays, 7 pm, starts October 27, in-person

Cantor Toby Glaser and participants will explore the history, meaning and theology of our Reform liturgy, as well as its context in our prayer book. We will also devote time each week to practicing our Shabbat prayers, and learning the system of chanting the Torah, cantillation. Participants will gain a broad understanding of the Mishkan Tefilah siddur, as well as lead a graduation service in spring 2023. They will be expected to chant at least one verse of Torah as well as prepare textual reflections on their learning, which will be incorporated into the B Mitzvah ceremony. Members only.
