Creating a special worship ruach

Sherith Israel has a proud musical tradition beginning with our classical Jewish musical roots—the soaring synagogue melodies of Cantor Salomon Sulzer (1804-1890) and Lewis Lewandowski (1821-1894)—to more participatory music from composers like Debbie Freedman and Craig Taubman. Reaching out to the next generation, we’ve also been known to daven to a reggae or hip-hop beat.
