Weekly Torah study
Saturdays, 9:15-10:15 am on Zoom
In Person once a month
Find a whole new way—actually many new ways—to look at the Torah and Jewish thought. No previous Torah experience is necessary, and you can drop in any time. Come just to listen or jump right in to fascinating discussions.
Podcasting the Jewish Future
First Tuesdays, 6 pm,
Gather for a monthly discussion of podcasts on Judaism in the US and beyond with Rabbi George Altshuler. In person only. Refreshments provided.
Hebrew Level 1 & 2
Introductory Hebrew, Wednesdays, 7:15 pm, February 21-May 8, 2024 in person with online option
Intermediate Prayerbook Hebrew, Sundays, 11 am Fall-Winter 2024 on Zoom
Prayerbook Hebrew for the beginner and advanced beginner. We will focus on reading and deeply understanding prayers from the Siddur. This is a linguistic approach to Torah Study: what can learn from the words about the deep meaning of our prayers? Through this process, we will also learn Hebrew grammar and vocabulary that’s applicable to modern Hebrew as well.
Fall/Winter: Introduction to Judaism
Wednesdays, 6:30–8 pm, beginning October, 2024
This survey course covers a wide range of topics including an introduction to Jewish texts, history, ritual and thought. Perfect for anyone looking for adult-level basics, whether you never set foot in the Jewish classroom or just have hazy memories of Sunday school this course is designed to prepare you for other classes or independent study.
Monthly: Jewish Book Club
3rd Monday of the month, 4 pm on Zoom
Enjoy stimulating discussions on themes of Jewish issues and history based on outstanding novels and nonfiction books by Jewish authors. Book club members lead the discussion of each session. Information: Julie Lekach House
