Sherith Israel volunteers make a difference
Rabbi Hillel asked, “If I am only for myself, what am I?” Your talent and time make a difference. Sherith Israel relies on volunteers for both day-to-day operations and long-range goals and planning. Even a little help goes a long way. Please consider what you can do today. As Rabbi Hillel also noted, “If not now, when?”
Board and committees
The Sherith Israel Board of Trustees and committees create policy, plan programs and work with our staff. Talented, thoughtful members take part in a variety of projects and activities. Your leadership, insight and strategic thinking are welcome in a variety of vital areas: education, community and membership, communications, ritual, budget and finance, executive, building and grounds, development, trustees and social action.

Shabbat and holiday greeters
It’s a special mitzvah to welcome both congregants and strangers—friends we haven’t met yet!—to Shabbat and holiday services. Our greeters set the tone and make newcomers feel special—which they are.

Office volunteers
Be part of a dedicated group whose weekday help is essential for managing the temple workload. Answer the telephone, handle office tasks and greet visitors at the front desk.

Koleynu Choir
If you enjoy ritual music and like to sing, your voice and spirit will be a wonderful addition to our congregational chorus that delights us at Shabbat services, holidays and special occasions.
