Volunteering
Make a difference...volunteer!
Rabbi Hillel asked, “If I am only for myself, what am I?” Your talent and time make a difference. Sherith Israel relies on volunteers for both day-to-day operations and long-range goals and planning. Even a little help goes a long way. Please consider what you can do today. As Rabbi Hillel also noted, “If not now, when?”
Shabbat Greeters
It’s a special mitzvah to welcome both congregants and strangers—(friends we haven’t met yet!)—to Shabbat. Our greeters set the tone and make newcomers feel at home. Volunteer once or as often as you like.
Holiday Greeters
As with Shabbat, our greeters set the tone and make newcomers feel welcome during holiday services throughout the year.
Oneg Help
Help us prep and plate food for our friday Onegs from 4-6 pm. Become part of the reason people feel the warmth of our shul.
Oneg Sponsor
Oneg means joy. Bring some joy to the community by sponsoring an after-service reception on the date of your choice. Give a little or a lot.
Grounds and Facilities
Volunteer with our facilities team to keep the buildings clean, tidy, weeded, polished, and ready for congregants and visitors alike. Send an email to be added to the G&F list and get notified about upcoming projects where help is needed.

Koleynu Choir
If you enjoy ritual music and like to sing, your voice and spirit will be a wonderful addition to our congregational chorus that delights us at Shabbat services, holidays and special occasions.
