YAP Shabbat

Join our friendly young adult community for dinner and laid-back Jewish learning. Come for services at 6 p.m. and stay for dinner at 7:15 p.m. followed by a group text study. Come connect with other Jewish young adults over nosh and Jewish wisdom!

Challah Baking

Thursday February 20th, 7:00 PM

Join Sherith Israel's YAP group for a fun night of Challah baking and schmoozing.  Learn to make Challah with Ruth Auerbach, who makes our wonderful challah every Friday night.  Participants will follow along with Ruth and make a challah that can be taken home and baked.  While waiting for the dough to rise, enjoy some cheese, light appetizers, and dessert with other young adults.  
$25 Registration required.  For ages 21-40. 

Millennial Jewish Stars: Author Talk with Jonathan Branfman

Join the Sherith Israel community for this amazing talk co-sponsored by YAP with author Jonathan Branfman, as he discusses what makes explicitly Jewish stars so unexpectedly appealing.  Jewish stars have longed faced pressure to downplay Jewish identity for fear of alienating wider audiences. But unexpectedly, since the 2000s, many millennial Jewish stars have won stellar success while spotlighting (rather than muting) Jewish identity.

Mixology

Tuesday March 11th, 8:00 PM

Join Sherith Israel's YAP group in learning how to make four classic cocktails.  Erik Migdail, who has assisted in making the signature cocktail at our Annual Gala, will be teaching how to make a Manhattan, a Martini, a Negroni, and a Margarita.  A non-alcoholic mocktail will also be presented.  Enjoy trying these cocktails along with some cheese, light appetizers, and dessert while schmoozing with other young adults.
