Sherith Israel Teen Programming

All teen programming, educational & social, will fall under the Teens @ Sherith Israel umbrella. That umbrella will include Teens @ Studio (Friday Nights with the Rabbi), Youth Groups (SITY), YouthFirst service opportunities, and working at Studio on Sundays (Madrichim).

A schedule of the teen events is available on the Studio Calendar.

To sign your teen up for Teens @ Sherith Israel*, log in to your Sherith Israel Shul Cloud account and click the school enrollment button.

*Tuition for Teens @ Sherith covers all four of these components. If your teen is only interested in joining our Madrichim, there is no charge.

Teens @ Studio: Friday Night with the Rabbi

Once a month, our teens have the unique opportunity for dining & dialogue with our Rabbis. These dinners provide a deeper connection with our Rabbis and a chance to explore Judaism’s perspective on topics that interest them.

Friday night, Teens @ Studio dinners are from 6:00-8:30 pm, immediately following our community Kabbalat Shabbat service.

Youth Group: Sherith Israel Temple Youth (SITY)

SITY is Sherith Israel 8th-12th grade youth group. It is an opportunity for teens to come together outside the classroom, build community, and participate in a variety of activities.

In addition to our own events, our youth group, SITY, will have the opportunity to participate in BBYO. BBYO is the leading pluralistic teen movement, providing exceptional identity enrichment and leadership development experiences for hundreds of thousands of Jewish teens.

YouthFirst

We are pleased to partner with YouthFirst, a program of JFCS, that connects teens from around the Bay Area as they address a range of challenges/issues facing our communities. Through advocacy projects and service-learning events, teens help make a difference through their actions and voice!

As a Sherith Israel cohort, our teens will have the opportunity to participate in at least four service-learning events with other teens around the Bay Area throughout the year.

Madrichim @ Studio

In Hebrew,  madrich means "guide," someone who helps others to find their way. At Sherith Israel, our madrichim are leaders in the Studio community. They take active roles in welcoming our younger students, leading tefilah, and crafting core memories for our Studio participants.

Working at Studio, 8th-9th graders have the opportunity to receive community service hours.10th-12th graders can choose to receive community service hours or earn minimum wage. Click here for the Studio calendar.

Think your teen would be interested in being a Madrich? Have them fill out this form.
