What factors led to the Six Day War and what is its legacy? How did the war impact Israeli society and the world’s relationship with Israel?  What are the multiple narratives about the war and the 50th Anniversary?

ABOUT ERAN KAPLAN
Dr. Eran Kaplan is the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Chair in Israel Studies at San Francisco State University. He is the author of The Jewish Radical Right: Revisionist Zionism and its Ideological Legacy and The Origins Of Israel: A Documentary History with Derek Penslar. You can look forward to his next book Beyond Post-Zionism, scheduled to appear in 2015 with SUNY Press. In addition to his scholarly publications, he contributed articles to Haaretz and Tikkun. At SFSU, Professor Kaplan teaches courses on Modern Israel, the Arab-Israeli Conflict, Israeli Cinema, Modern Hebrew Culture and the History of Jerusalem.

ABOUT KAREN SCHILLER
Karen Schiller was a member of the advisory committee that helped create Project Reconnections, the forerunner of the Jewish Community Relations Council’s Year of Civil Discourse. While president of Congregation Sha’ar Zahav, she helped bring the Year of Civil Discourse to the synagogue; she also participated in the Leadership Cohort during that year, as well as other YOCD programs. She has facilitated many discussions on topics ranging from general concerns about the Middle East to BDS, as well as many board and committee meetings.
