Feeding the Hungry
We have a long history of feeding the hungry

HaMotzi
Named for the traditional blessing before a meal and based on a rabbinic plea during the High Holy Days in 1993 feed the hungry. Since then, over 150,000 well-balanced meals were prepared for individuals and families looking for a fresh start.
Every Sunday at 9:30 am in the Newman Hall Kitchen our volunteers—adults and young people alike—prepare 100 meals that are delivered to two shelters in San Francisco.
Volunteers do it all, shopping, picking up donations, prep, cooking, cleaning, and deliveries. All that's missing is- you.
Chicken Soupers
In 1988, Chicken Soupers began preparing meals for Jewish individuals suffering with AIDS. In partnership with Jewish Family and Children's Services, the program expanded to feed homebound seniors and chronically ill people of all ages.
After the Hamotzi, once a month, volunteers prepare several days worth of meals for recipients.
Our annual second night Passover Seder is prepared by our volunteer team and raises funds for Chicken Soupers and HaMotzi.
