Koleynu Choir

Koleynu choir taps rich musical heritage

Giving voice to the congregation

Under the musical guidance of Jonathan Dimmock, Sherith Israel’s choir director and accompanist, our volunteer choir, Koleynu (our voice), offers a wide repertoire. It ranges from Jewish classical music by Salomon Sulzer and Lewis Lewandowski to musical settings of familiar prayers and contemporary songs that put a modern spin on our liturgy. Koleynu delights the congregation during High Holy Day services, on Shabbat and at special services during the year.

“There's nothing like singing together to build community,” says choir director Jonathan Dimmock. “Koleynu works hard to include people of all levels of musicianship. The result is a warm fellowship of people who really enjoy leading worship services on a periodic basis.”

If you enjoy singing ritual music, your voice and spirit will be a wonderful addition to our congregational choir. Joining Koleynu is a fulfilling way to deepen your own worship and to add to the joy of the congregation.
