Once a month on a Sunday morning, volunteers staff our Newman Hall kitchen to prepare and cook several days’ worth of meals for homebound seniors and people with disabilities or chronic illnesses. A short visit with the person receiving the meals makes this activity personal and rewarding. This program is a cooperative effort with Jewish Family and Children’s Services. First Wednesday of the Month, In Person Only Gather with Rabbi George Altshuler for a once-a-month discussion of podcasts on Judaism in the United States.

Hebrew 101- gain knowledge of the AlephBet and Nikkud system in context of the Siddur. At the end of this class, students will be able to read and pronounce excerpts from the prayerbook. There will also be some basic vocabulary and introduction to Hebrew grammar. No Previous knowledge required.

Join our Hebrew learner community as we dive into decoding the language behind the prayers & blessings of the Siddur. Learn essential vocabulary and Hebrew grammar basics to better understand and explore new meanings behind our ancient texts. In person attendance encouraged; Zoom option available if need be.

Teens @ Studio offers dynamic learning classes to explore the parts of Judaism that are most interesting and relevant to teens.

POSITT: Are you the parent of a teen or tween? Are you interested in being in community with other Jewish parents of this age group? Join us for a relaxed dinner party after Kabbalat Shabbat services. POSITT dinners are scheduled to coincide with Sherith Israel teen youth group programming.
