7 pm: Lecture: Understanding Zionisms: Ideas that Led to the Creation of the State of Israel.
Israel/Gaza discussion series on Israeli Independence Day. As we observe Israel’s 76th birthday, we have an opportunity to study the ideas and ideals that led to the founding of the Jewish state. What does Zionism mean? What are historic and modern views of Zionisms that guide us? How do we understand Israel in our complicated world? Registration required.
Rabbi Ed Feinstein is a faculty member at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, rabbi of Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, California, and lecturer at the Ziegler Rabbinical School of the American Jewish University.
