Israel's Music History: 100 Years of Israeli Music in Six Hours.
A 4-part lecture series with final highlights performance by vocalist Noa Levy.
This audio-visual lecture series explores Israeli music from its early beginnings to the modern era using an ethnomusicological approach, showing how Israel’s music was affected by and is directly related to the critical historical events of the time. Participants will experience how, throughout its birth, independence, wars, times of peace, and maturation, Israel’s music and history are inextricably linked.

Following the conclusion of the seminar, Sherith Israel will host a highlights concert presentation open to all in Newman Hall following Kabbalat Shabbat (6-7:15 pm). Vocalist and instructor Noa Levy will perform and MC the event with a full live band. The performance will provide highlights of Israeli 100 years of Israeli music.
