This Friday, we welcome special guest Shimrit Braun Kamin, who is a leader in Israel pro-democracy protests representing UnXeptable and New Israel Fund in the struggle for Israel’s democracy. Shimrit will share updates and insights on her experiences leading protests in the Bay Area with UnXeptable, a grassroots movement launched by Israeli expats in support of a democratic Israel.

Shimrit Braun Kamin is the New Israel Fund Associate Director in the Bay Area. She is a lifelong peace activist and a member of the UnXeptable leadership team, organizing the Bay Area community in support of the pro-democracy protests in Israel. Previously, she was Director of Project Management and Public Activity at the Geneva Initiative, an Israeli-Palestinian peace organization. She also worked in Israeli TV in political and news programs. She holds a B.A. in Communications and M.A. in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy from Reichman University in Herzliya. She was born and raised in Kibbutz Gan Shmuel, and has lived in the Bay Area with her husband and kids since 2017.
