Barbara Rose, formerly published as Barbara Rose Brooker, insists, “Age is not a number. Numbers don’t count! Age is a gift, not a curse. Life is a series of beginnings. Anyone at any age can be Age Magnificent!”

The author of many hilarious novels—ranging from The Rise and Fall of a Jewish American Princess to The Viagra Diaries, Barbara produced the first-ever Age March in San Francisco, then carried her torch to LA, Seattle and NY. During the pandemic, she led the first virtual and global Age March in history.

Barbara has appeared on The Today Show, The Talk, Inside Edition and ET, and spoken at the San Francisco Commonwealth Club about age and ageism. She wrote “Boomer in the City,” a popular column about dating after 60, in the J from 2011-2017. In 2024, SHANTI awarded her for her work with low-income women 50 and up with cancer.
