Studio Beach Cleanup

Sunday, November 15, 2020 28 Cheshvan 5781

10:00 AM - 12:00 PMThe Ocean Beach entrance at Great Highway & John F Kennedy Drive (across from the Dutch windmill)

A socially distanced, masked Ocean Beach cleanup for families hosted by Studio @ Sherith Israel.

Here are the details—they are lengthy, but essential, so please read!

When: Sunday, 11/15/2020, 10 am–noon

Where: Meet us at the Ocean Beach entrance at Great Highway & John F Kennedy Drive (across from the Dutch windmill)

What (to bring):

  • Masks, to be worn at all times by all participants
  • Gloves (gardening/work gloves are best) for all participants
  • Trash bags (or reused grocery bags)
  • (Optional) bucket, trash grabber
  • For kids grade 6 & under: a parent/guardian who will accompany you to, from & throughout the cleanup
  • For teens grade 7 & up: a parent/guardian to accompany you OR a permission slip (CLICK HERE to download, fill out & return by email to aphelps@sherithisrael.org)

Q: As a parent/guardian, do I really need to accompany my child throughout this event?

A: YES—children in grades 6 & under MUST be accompanied at all times by a parent/guardian; teens in grades 7 & up MUST either be accompanied by a parent/guardian OR turn in a completed permission slip to Rabbi Abby.

Q: What does "socially distanced" mean?

A: It means that all participants will maintain at least 6 feet of distance at all times from anyone not in their household (teens, this includes you!), as per current San Francisco health directives.

Q: Will Studio also meet over Zoom on Sunday morning, 11/15?

A: No—please join us at Ocean Beach or enjoy a Sunday morning of sleeping in!

Q: Where can I park?

A: There is a parking lot that runs south from the intersection of Great Highway & John F Kennedy Drive; we hope there will be plenty of spaces, but we can't guarantee it.  You can also try parking in the area around Fulton St & 47th Ave.

Q: What should I do with the trash I collect?

A: Please bag it up and take it home with you if you possibly can—we don't want to overfill beach trash cans!

Q: I have a question that's not listed here, how can I get it answered?

A: Email Rabbi Abby at aphelps@sherithisrael.org.

We are so excited to see you in person this Sunday!

Looking forward,

Rabbi Abby, Natalie & the Studio team
