Class taught by Rabbinic Intern George Altshuler.
Using as a starting point the scholar Israel Knohl’s idea of a “Divine Symphony” of biblical theology, we’ll look into the various theologies presented in the Torah. In this in-person three-part class, we’ll consider if the ways the various authors of the Bible describe God are mutually exclusive and the implications of this for us as present-day Jews. All levels of familiarity with Torah and Hebrew are welcome.
